Ballarat Overnight ride report

The Ballarat winter ride was held in perfect sunny weather. With a dozen riders in tow, temporary ride captain Eric led us for the first part of the ride from Diamond Creek to morning tea at Broadford.  Ian took over the lead for the rest of the ride with lunch at Kynton and we arrivied at our final destination, the Ramada Resort in Sebastopol, at about 4:00 pm.  One minor incident to report with no injuries.  Serval beers and pizzas were consumed around the fire with lots of BS thrown in for good measure.  As usual, accommodation was top notch.

It was great to see our ex Prez back on a ride.

Well done Ian and thanks for all your work arranging the ride and accommodation.

Ride Report - Dargo 24 - 25 May 2019

Despite all of the negative weather reports a dozen brave Tourers met at Bayswater to head off in the drizzling rain to Dargo.

The rain persisted until Noojee, and Icy Creek Road was damp and slippery in places. We were well in front of the rain by Hill End, and despite a few threatening drops every time we stopped, the rain eventually disappeared, and we were all warm and dry as we dined on Maffra pies for lunch. We arrived at Dargo around 3:00 with clear blue skies and it was time for a few well-earned beers.

The evening news predicted lots of rain for the trip home, however, despite a few overnight showers, the morning sky was clear and there was no rain in sight. We retraced our steps home in perfect weather and the trip would have been incident free, however, a couple of unnamed geographically challenged riders took a detour to the Thompson Dam.

Thanks to the good work of our trip leader Eric we all had a fantastic time.

The next ride to Ballart is only a few weeks away and we can only hope we have more of the same sunny blue skies.

Donny Brook Ride Report

Donny Brook Hotel Ride 21 Oct 2018

Our last Sunday ride saw a great turn out of FLT members and was full of surprises. Eric finally came out and revealed his true inner easy rider self, Laurie came out and revealed his off road GS self, and Moley revealed his Ducati almost off road self. To top it off the weather was perfect and ride captain Eric entertained us with some great roads.  Hope to see you all on the next (and last) ride for 2018 on Friday 23 November.

Dixsons Creek Ride Report Sept 9 2018

Ride report Dixons Creek

Despite Sunday's overcast conditions, the rain held off, and with dry roads and and 13 FLT members for lunch, all we needed was some fantastic roads to seal the deal.  After a coffee and chat at Diamond Creek, we travelled every back road to Hurstbridge, Arthurs Creek, St Andrews then the back way to Yarra Glen.  We then headed for Healsville, up to Toolangi, down to Chum Creek and and back over to the Melba Highway arriving at the Dixons Creek Cafe around noon.  There were plenty of bends, turns and corners to to satisfy everyone.  I've been past this cafe a thousand times without stopping, what a mistake.  The service and food was great and good value. Thanks to everyone who attended and we can now look forward to some warmer days and more great rides.  Next ride is scheduled for Sunday 14 October leaving from Bayswater North, make sure you save the date.
